Hospital San Ramón
El primer hospital de Tacna se llamó "Hospital San Ramón", allí se atendieron los heridos de la Batalla del Alto de la Alianza.

Hospital de Apoyo Hipólito Unanue
El 28 de agosto de 1954 se inaugura el nuevo Hospital de Apoyo "Hipólito Unanue" durante el gobierno del Presidente Manuel A. Odría.
